Are you a Jewelry lover❤️

If the answer is yes, then you may want to read on. We have put together, a list of some of the best tips on how to keep your jewelry looking as beautiful and shiny as new!

Every new jewelry requires a little TLC to keep it in tip-top condition. Just follow these simple steps and make your jewelry sparkle and shine for years to come.

  1. Polish at least weekly

Polishing cloths help to remove fingerprints, oils, tarnish, dirt, scratches, and dullness. If you’re wearing certain pieces 24/7, polishing them once a week is a must. This quick and easy tip makes a difference as it can keep your jewelry looking new for much longer. Please note that when you polish your jewelry, black marks will start form on the cloth. This is completely normal & indicates that the cloth is successfully removing the tarnish off of the metal.

  1. Avoid chemicals

Your new jewelry should be the finishing touch to your outfit – that means putting it on after you’ve applied your make-up and perfume, hairspray, or other beauty products. The chemicals in these products can damage your jewelry and reduce its luster, so avoid letting them come into contact with each other.

3. Keep your jewelry away from water

Especially in the case of chlorinated water! Always take off any jewelry before getting into a pool or making a trip to the spa. You should also remove your jewelry before showering, as even plain water can cause the metal to lose its luster and gemstones to come loose.

4. Use cotton buds for fiddly areas

It can be challenging to polish all the nooks and crannies of certain jewelry items. In this case, non-plastic cotton buds can allow you to reach some of the more awkward areas.

5. Keep away from direct sunlight

Prolonged exposure to light and heat can impact the color and durability of many gemstones, so make sure to protect your jewelry from these harsh conditions. When you’re not wearing your new jewelry design, be sure to store it in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight.

6. Preventing Damage

You can wear jewelry pretty much 24/7, though, there are a few occasions where we suggest that you take it off. This may be given, but it’s best to leave jewelry (especially rings) at home when doing activities where you’re rough with your hands; working out (except for running and yoga), household chores, rock climbing, etc. Such activities can damage your jewelry or could cause stones to loosen. You should also avoid swimming with it on – your jewelry could be water-resistant, but there’s always a chance you could lose it in the ocean, a lake, or even a pool. There are some activities, however, that we do encourage leaving your jewelry on. Washing your hands, for example, is a great way to keep your rings clean – soap them up!

7. Use dishwashing soap and warm water

For pieces that are dull, filmy, or starting to discolor, mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water and rub the jewelry with a soft cloth. Rinse in cool water and buff with a cloth until dry.

8. Keep it up away from wooden surfaces

Avoid leaving your jewelry on chemically treated surfaces or on wood which can stain or speed up the tarnishing process.
